Obesity at City School
Working with RiseVT to lower obesity
RiseVT's long-term goal is to reduce obesity in our community to decrease the illness and expense associated with it. We have that goal as well.
In 2017 St. Albans City School, other Franklin County schools and pediatricians joined with RiseVT to get a baseline measure of obesity using aggregate measures of body mass index (BMI). The statistics gained were eye-opening. Our school and others in the county have a significant obesity problem and it will take our collective effort solve it. Our school staff and student leaders are committed to working hard on exercise and dietary initiatives to curb obesity.
